8418

Electromechanical latch

  • Two-stage system: the primary latch holds the door while the positioning stage positions the locked assembly
  • Pull-in force of up to 400 N for reliable seal compression
  • Generous travel to the venting position, allowing even strong seals to relax
  • Powerful springs absorb impact energy when the door is slammed, protecting the drives
  • 230 V AC for the holding stage; 12 or 24 V DC for the positioning stage
  • Suitable for handleless appliance concepts, depending on the appliance design

Details

Hold first, then take action. The 8418 combines two stages that work hand in hand: holding and positioning. First, the primary latch securely captures and holds the door. The secondary latch then smoothly moves this pair – the locked primary latch and the door – into its final position with up to 400 N. From there, it positions the unit wherever the process requires: moving into the venting position and, when needed, drawing it closed again, or open it – reliably, time after time. Throughout the process, the door remains firmly under control. The travel to the venting position is generously dimensioned, giving even the strongest seal a chance to take a breather. Slamming? No drama. Powerful springs absorb the impact energy – much to the delight of the drives. Power supply: 230 V AC for the holding stage and 12 or 24 V DC for the positioning stage – clearly separated and easy to control.
